Artistic Escapade S.Pedro Estoril - 20160912

Margarida Ornelas

The Artistic Escapade took place in the hostel “Turismo O Século”, located in S.Pedro do Estoril, close to the beach and near to the train station that leads to Cascais.

The first day we went to Cascais by train. The train is very close from the Hostel, so it is an easy and beautiful transport to Cascais or to Lisbon. We did as usual a tour through the village to show the beautiful places where to go.

On Wednesday,  we painted open-air beautiful oil paintings in Ponta do Sal esplanade.

Next day we had a coffee in a lovely typical coffeeshop in Estoril with very good pastry. Cascais was next stop and we visited the Santa Marta Lighthouse, that fortunately was opened and we could climb the 90 stairs to the top. Magnific view! Then we walked through Marechal Carmona Park and visit Casa das Histórias Paula Rego, an internationally known Portuguese painter with splendid works!

Friday, we had planned the Sintra tour. We visited Pena Palace and Pena park,  we had lunch in the old town and we did some paintings in a place with a nice and green view. Later we went to Cabo da Roca , the most western cape in Europe, and then the famous Guincho beach, that was very windy  as usual. We had a tea in Muchaxo Hotel to finish the tour.
