13:00 Lunch in a restaurant in the centre of Cascais.
15:00 We will go for a walk armed with our sketch books and all the materials we need to make wonderful sketches of any themes that inspire us. You can also take photos of the places that catch your eye to help your work the next day. Feel free to make notes of the colours you see.
Starting at Cascais Bay with the local fishermen and boats, we will then move on to see Cascais Town Hall and the statue of former monarch Dom Pedro I.
We head towards the cidadela (citadel) passing in front of elegant late 19th-century houses and the modern Cascais Cultural Centre. Our next stop will be the Casa de Santa Maria, a lovely house built at the beginning of the 20th century and Santa Marta lighthouse, which is an icon of the village of Cascais.

13:00 Lunch in a restaurant in the centre of Cascais.
15:00 We will explore the Marshal Carmona Park. Here we will visit the interesting Palace of the Counts of Castro Guimarães. This palace was built at the end of the 19th century and has many furnished rooms and a rich library, as well as many paintings and other collections.

Throughout the afternoon you are welcome to make sketches in any medium in preparation for what you will paint the next morning.
