This workshop is run close to the beach in Cascais village. There you have both beautiful, secluded spots where you can draw, take pictures or paint, but you also have several restaurants, shops, bars – you can really feel the heart of the village beating or you can just relax.

You will spend six days soaking up the beauty of Cascais and painting with a group of like-minded people in a fun and relaxed environment.

Accommodation will be at a charming (3 or 4 star) hotel near the centre or around the town just a stone’s throw from the sea. Most rooms have a balcony overlooking the ocean and are double or single including private bathroom and LCD TV.

Breakfast will be served daily in the hotel.

A detailed programme will be presented at your arrival in Cascais.

We offer a variety of workshops during the morning, from oil or acrylic to watercolour. These workshops are suitable whether you’re a beginner or a more advanced participant. The tutor gives a demonstration and guides each student in learning a new skill or tip to improve their work. After the class, each participant can develop the subject they choose.

Lunchtime enables participants to sample Mediterranean and traditional Portuguese food in interesting restaurants near the hotel.

After lunch we will go for walks exploring Cascais Bay, observing the fishermen, boats, architecture, historical centre, gardens and all around Cascais.

You can take photographs and make sketches in your sketchbook, which you can turn into a painting in the studio the following day.

During the week we will have two special dinners in charming restaurants in Cascais.

There is a visit to Sintra, included in your programme so you can visit some of the World Heritage monuments, which are considered to be among some of the most beautiful in the world.
