Workshop "From figurative to abstract" with Luis Camara Sep 2020
Margarida Ornelas
And so begins this awesome workshop with Luis Camara.
A lovely morning in Cascais. The beach in the front of Hotel Baía, where the workshop took place was like this: a fisherman boat arriving with a lot of fish and seagulls following the boat …
Here are some works of this watercolorist:
Luis started this course by explaining the basic concepts of watercolor.
Then he did his first demo introducing those concepts: a landscape with atmospheric perspective
Luis Camara work and some students works:
Another demo, this time about flowers, those beautiful flowers he usually does…
Third Demo was about trees, also awesome.
Next day workshop, Luis introduce us to a more abstract topic: his boats. Always showing us more technics. Everyone loved it!
Here is the exhibition of some works made by the participants:
More works and one more demo with glazes (the last one is from Luis Camara):
To finish Luis shows us a last demo in his very characteristic abstract watercolor.
And the traditional group photo…
The last day was plein air.
During the morning we walked along Cascais to the Marina where we painted Santa Marta lighthouse.
After lunch we found a very quiet square in Cascais near Praça 5 de Outubro.
There we did another painting during the afternoon.
