Escolhi para logotipo do nosso projeto - Paint in Portugal - o farol de Santa Marta por ser lindo e também o ícone de Cascais.
No momento em que soubemos desta iniciativa, da DNA Cascais em parceria com a Câmara Municipal de Cascais e a AECC - Associação Empresarial do Concelho de Cascais, aderimos de imediato. O objectivo é destinado a destacar importância do comercio local nos dias de hoje através da arte urbana e da criatividade.
O nosso projeto - Paint in Portugal - é dar a conhecer Cascais ao mundo através da arte, o que coincide com esta iniciativa.
Foram distribuídas replicas do farol de Santa Marta em fibra de vidro pelo centro de Cascais. Os artistas trabalharam durante 3 dias na rua ao olhar dos visitantes. Assim e com base no texto de JB em anexo no final desta Newsletter avançamos com a obra.

I chose for the logo of our project - Paint in Portugal - the Santa Marta lighthouse for being beautiful and also the icon of Cascais.
As soon as we heard about this initiative, from DNA Cascais in partnership with the Cascais Town Hall and AECC - Business Association of the Municipality of Cascais, we joined immediately. The objective is to highlight the importance of local commerce today thru street art and creativity.
Our project - Paint in Portugal - is to make Cascais known to the world through art, which coincides with this initiative.
Thus, based on the text by JB attached at the end of this Newsletter, we proceed with the work. Glass fiber replicas of the Santa Marta lighthouse were distributed throughout the center of Cascais. The artists worked for 3 days on the street.

Sempre ao longe, na guarda dos barcos
Que seguem de um porto para outro.
Numa ilha, sobre as pedras,
Um farol sempre evoca o mistério e a solidão.
O nosso farol nunca conheceu a solidão.
Junto à vila, sempre fez parte da vida das pessoas.
E as pessoas fizeram sempre parte da sua existência.
E as crianças e pescadores e visitas de todo o mundo.
De manhã muito cedinho até o final do dia...
Mas o que é que o farol faz à noite depois da última pessoa,
Depois do último barco recolher para a baía?
Em noites de lua clara, o farol sonha com o mar
E com terras e com gentes para lá das grandes ondas.
E seu devaneio e sonho toma a forma de um barco,
Daqueles da nossa infância: de jornal ou de revista.
E viaja por toda noite até à luz da madrugada,
Quando os sonhos se desfazem e começa um novo dia.”

“A dream of a beautiful lighthouse ...
Always in the distance, guarding the boats
That go from one port to another
On an island, on the rocks,
A lighthouse always evokes mystery and loneliness.
Our lighthouse has never known solitude.
Along the village, it has always been part of people's lives.
And people have always been part of its existence.
And children and fishermen and visitors from all over the world.
From very early in the morning until the end of the day ...
But what does the lighthouse do at night after the last person went home,
After the last boat return to the bay?
On clear moon nights, the lighthouse dreams of the sea
And with land and people beyond the big waves.
And his dreaminess and dream takes the form of a boat,
From those of our childhood: from a newspaper or magazine.
And travels all night until the dawn light,
When dreams fall apart and a new day begins.”
