We will offer you painting workshops in Cascais, a small village near Portugal’s capital Lisbon, and near Sintra.

Our goal is to provide painting courses during the holidays that offer a unique experience of some of the most beautiful beaches, golf courses, gardens and villages of Europe, which can be found in Cascais and the surrounding area.

Artistic Escapade

Are you searching for that perfect space to devote to your painting in a beautiful, stimulating environment? If so, come and join us at our workspace on Portugal’s spectacular coastline in Cascais where you can paint from early morning until sun set. We offer a perfect place for artists looking for uninterrupted creativity, enabling you to concentrate fully on your work without distraction.

Naturally, the sea and the coastline are of particular attraction, but the area also offers many other opportunities for outdoor painting. This retreat is completely tailored to your personal needs; you can spend the whole day painting or you could just choose to paint in the morning and have the afternoons free to visit Cascais, Sintra or Lisbon. You could also join the Cascais monthly Open-air Painting Meeting, should it occur during your stay.

We provide full transfers from the airport to your hotel and we will accompany you on any chosen tours, providing all the assistance you might need. 

You choose the hotel you would like to stay.

We can make suggestions depending on your preferences.

 

 

Cascais has a rich history and in the past was used as a retreat for many European Kings and Queens. It has a Museum Quarter situated in the centre with many beautiful museums and several examples of stunning architecture.  Nowadays, it is a beautiful seaside resort where many Portuguese and tourists choose to spend their summer holidays. There are also many excellent restaurants in Cascais and Estoril where you will be able to enjoy the local gastronomy.

Program

Our programs have 3 or 5 nights. For other periods or groups (more than 7 people), please contact us.

This could be our typical program for 5 days:

ARRIVAL DAY

  • Transfer from Lisbon’s airport to the Hotel

STANDARD DAY

  • 10:00 to 13:00 - Assistance and transport to the local beaches for sketching, watercolour or oil painting

  • Afternoon - You will be completely free to paint where and when you wish to.

There is a beautiful maritime view a few meters from the hotel, perfect to start you escapade. And you can also paint, photograph and sketch during our tours to Cascais and Sintra.
An artistic retreat near the sea to focus solely on painting represents something of a dream for most artists.

DAY WITH TOUR IN CASCAIS

  • 10:00 to 13:00 - Tour in the historical centre of the Village with drawings or watercolours

  • Afternoon - Free

DAY WITH TOUR IN SINTRA

  • 09:00 to 12:00 - Transport and visit the iconic "Palácio da Pena"

  • 12:00 to 12:30 - Eat a "travesseiro" in "Casa do Preto" - S. Pedro de Sintra

  • 13:30 to 16:00 - Azenhas do Mar - Lunch in a typical restaurante (price not included)

  • 16:00 to 17:30 - Transport to the stunning Cabo da Roca, Guincho Beach and return to Cascais

LAST DAY

  • Check-out from the hotel.

  • Transfer to Lisbon Airport.

One day tour in Sintra (*2)

However, if you would like to take part in any other tour to discover the beautiful surroundings during your stay, please inform us when you arrive and let us take care of all the arrangements. 

(*1)  Tour of Cascais - Visit the historical center of the village, the Paula Rego House of Stories, Parque Marechal Carmona and the Marina. We will make some drawings and sketches during the tour.

Painting Workshops and Sessions in Cascais

Don´t miss your chance to take an unforgettable workshop or painting session in  this beautiful country, in its special former fishing village, Cascais, with its winding coastline.
Here, you can mix the colours of Cascais and paint its soft yellows and pinks found in the lovely architecture and rooftops, the vivid blues and greens of its coastline and magical seascapes.

Our painting experiences, workshops and sessions, are for all abilities, have a minimum duration of half a day and  you can choose between oil, acrylic paint, watercolour, tiles painting and silk painting.

 

Our Painting Workshops are led by one teacher of our team.
These kind of experience can be organized at least for 3 people.

 

In our Painting Sessions, you will paint with Margarida, the founder of Paint in Portugal. We take you to the unforgettable experience of painting by the seaside.

You have a list of incredible locations to paint in Cascais. You can choose to paint close to the sea, in the village or in one of our parks or gardens.

We can adapt our painting sessions to the weather conditions: if the weather is good we can paint outdoor. If not, we can paint in our studio.

We are available to pick you at your hotel and also provide all the materials you need.
